*For ECN members considering running for Chief and Council *
“Candidates in the upcoming ECN Chief and Council elections will need to come in for
criminal record checks sooner than later.Be advised, it takes up to 2 weeks for the RCMP to get them back, so candidates are advised to put in the requests 2.5 weeks prior to the date that the criminal record checks are due.
REMINDER FROM EXTERNAL AFFAIRS: the ECN Custom Election Law requires criminal record checks and affidavits of residency two weeks prior to the nominate date. This means that you will need to request your criminal record check up to 4 weeks before the nomination date.”
