Bernard Buffalo: Sept. 21, 1932 – Jan. 27, 2002
He is the son of John Buffalo and Maggie Buffalo (Nee; Smallboy) daughter of Isabelle Smallboy, daughter of Coyote, son of Bobtail.
My father played an important role in Maskwacis, Born & raised in was once called Hobbema he went to stay in the Ermineskin Residential School until he was 15 yrs old & he played defense in hockey for Hobbema, he was a chicken dancer and before he became a cop he worked security and also volunteered for the detox center where the Ermineskin daycare is today.
He was one of the first cops with others from Hobbema surrounding area, located at the Ermineskin mall, and he worked on the force as a Constable for 11 years before he retired due to his health.
After retiring and recuperating, he was a pipe holder who attended ceremonies all over; he also helped prepare sun dances. He was a pow-wow traveller. He was a kind, strong kind kind-hearted man, a respected Elder before his passing.
