Today is Orange Shirt Day also known as the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. As it falls on a Monday, there are many who are not working today, but let’s not forget:
🔸🔶Today is NOT just another day off.🔶🔸
It is a day to mourn, reflect, remember and honour the ones that never came home. Today is a day to learn the true history of residential schools.
Here are 4 ways you can help Indigenous youth on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation:
🔸Learn the true history of residential schools and be honest when sharing this history with others (no sugar coating).
🔸Uplift the stories of residential school survivors and their families. Reshare the stories of those who choose to tell theirs (and respect those who are not willing to do so).
🔸Support Indigenous people by offering resources to help with the heaviness of today – and show your support by wearing orange.
🔸Donate to the Indian Residential School Survivors Society.
I Matter, You Matter, We Matter,
Every. Child. Matters.

This is a difficult day for many. If you need support, please reach out to the Indian Residential Schools Crisis Line at 1-866-925-4419.
