Performer Spotlight… Meet Maria Buffalo and Taylor Bull!
Maria Buffalo is a Femme 2S Nêhiyaw iskwêw from Samson Cree Nation in Maskwacis. She’s a multidisciplinary artist; beader, part time filmmaker, writer, model, and stage actor. Currently, Maria works as a library coordinator at her library branch in Maskwacis doing programming and creating Cree resources for the Parkland Regional Library System.
She is working on her debut stage script “Kiyam-ing”, with the Workshop West Indigenous Play-writers circles.
Self proclaimed “Switch Prairie Goddess” and “Rez Goth extraordinaire”, Maria’s work always seeks to explore her connection to the land. With a focus on harm reduction, and healthy decolonial sex and pleasure.
Maria will be performing a stage reading from “Kiyam-ing” with Taylor Bull.
Taylor Bull is an aspiring actor, singer/songwriter, and professional athlete who is passionate about storytelling and inspiring others to live life to the fullest. He is the descendent of the hereditary chiefdom of the Louis Bull Tribe located on Treaty 6 territory in Maskwacis, AB.
