🎓 MESC 2025 Graduation: A Historic Day for Our Community 🎓
Today, we witnessed something truly powerful at the 2025 MESC Graduation Ceremony held at Maskwacis Cree High School.
With hearts full of pride and eyes filled with tears, our community celebrated a record-breaking milestone: 66 graduates — the most ever in our history. From a time when only 2 students would walk the stage, to today’s extraordinary achievement, this moment is a testament to the strength, resilience, and brilliance of our youth and the unwavering support of their families, educators, and communities.
Guiding us through the day with warmth and grace was our Master of Ceremonies, MCHS Teacher Delwiliah Brown. The drumbeat of the Honor Song by Stephen Wood and Drum Group, the blessings offered by Dale Simon, and the heartfelt messages from our leaders — Carmella Cutknife, Tracy Swampy-Sylvester, and our principals Daryl Lynn Nepoose and Keith MacQuarrie — lifted the hearts of all in attendance. The peer tribute from Maxim Lance Roan reminded us that this journey is walked together, hand in hand.
Each graduate was honored not only with a diploma, but with an Eagle Feather — a symbol of courage, achievement, and connection to our ancestors.
This isn’t just a graduation — it’s a movement. A rising tide of hope, language, and pride in who we are as Nehiyawak.
💛 Congratulations to the Class of 2025. You make us so proud.
