Last night’s celebration of Chief J. Wilton Littlechild’s 80th birthday was filled with joy, respect, entertainment and heartfelt tributes. Wilton was the first Treaty First Nation person to acquire a law
degree from the University of Alberta. His journey from a respected athlete, politician, leader and advocate for the rights of Indigenous Peoples is truly inspirational. His contributions to sports, law, and Indigenous rights have earned him numerous awards, including the Order of Canada and the Alberta Order of Excellence.Last night’s event shared beautiful memories and tributes to a life dedicated to service, excellence, and community.
