From September 30 to October 9, 2025, the University of Alberta will once again waive application fees for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit learners applying to undergraduate or graduate programs. This initiative is held in alignment with the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day, in honour of Residential School Survivors and in the spirit of reconciliation.
Free Application Days is about reducing barriers and opening doors for Indigenous students to explore post-secondary pathways. By removing the cost of applying, we hope to support learners and their families in taking that important first step toward university. Education is a powerful tool for community strength, healing, and future generations, and the U of A is committed to walking alongside Indigenous students in their journeys
