Are you Covid-19 Positive? Or, are you a First Contact to Covid-19 Positive
This what you need to know and do…
If you are Covid-19 Positive, it is mandatory that you QUARANTINE for a minimum 10 days or longer if you still have symptoms
If you receive a “First Contact” notification, it is a mandatory ISOLATION of a minimum 14 days or longer if you have symptoms.
Due to high number of active Covid-19 cases is Maskwacis that continues to go up, there has been a delay of information being received by all four Nations from Alberta Health Services (AHS) to Maskwacis Health Services (MHS).
In most cases, the DEMs only receive a name and a date of birth. They do NOT receive any other information even though at testing you give your contact information and house numbers. However, you can activate the process yourself once you have received an official notification.
We ONLY provide assistance to those that have received a Covid Positive test result and or a First Contact notification.
The Emergency Operation Committee does NOT provide any financial assistance.
Maskwacis Health Services does not provide any food services.
Food Hamper services are ONLY for residents in Band owned homes.
Off Reserve members have Foodbank support available in their local city and towns, please reach out to those when in need.
This is how to YOU start the process for food hamper assistance:
Your Responsibility:
Step 1
As soon as you receive either a Covid-19 Positive or Close Contact notification call a Health Care Worker at the number provided in the notification. They will provide you with the anticipated end date of either a quarantine or isolation. Your local DEM will need this information.
Step 2
Contact your local Director of Emergency Management (DEM):
Greg Minde at (780) 312-3145 or Richard Coyote at (780) 312-5613.

Ermineskin Cree Nation is unable to be your sole source for food and assistance, errands etc. In the event, you are unable to arrange for a prescription pick up with MHS Medical Transportation, then Emergency Operation Committee will assist but again due to continual increase in Covid cases in Ermineskin it will not be in a timely manner so prepare accordingly.
