Elliott Young is Nehiyaw (Cree) from Ermineskin Cree Nation, one of the four nations that make up Maskwacis. Born and raised on Ermineskin, he came to Edmonton to attend the University of Alberta where he completed a Bachelor of Arts in Native Studies degree with a
certification in Aboriginal Governance and Partnership. Elliott’s career has been focused on policy development and coordination, community engagement, Indigenous relations, and youth engagement. Elliott’s motivation is ensuring social issues are addressed through collaboration and engagement of community. Elliott is currently in the final year of his Master of Arts in Community Engagement at the University of Alberta. Currently, Elliott works at NorQuest College as the Indigenous Community Engagement Advisor.
