Security and curfew are put in place for the protection of our people. These are safety measures put forward to protect you and me, especially those in our community that are most vulnerable.
It doesn't need to be said that our elders should be protected.
We all should do everything we can to protect one another from this virus.
We ask that you please cooperate with the safety guidelines and look out for one another.
Also, please remember our Security guards are members of our community.
They are fathers, mothers of children that live in our community, they are sons and daughters of your friends and families.
Please keep their safety in mind when driving through the checkpoints. As this is a very real concern, they have families to go home to, so please STOP at the checkpoints and proceed through when they've completed their security procedure.
We need to show some respect for these front line workers who's sole responsibility is to keep us all safe here in Neyaskweyahk. We thank you.
