On Thursday, September 12, 2019, MESC staff and students had the opportunity to participate in the annual minahowin (buffalo harvest). Students from Nipisihkopahk Secondary School & Ehpewapahk Alternate School helped cut meat, and learned the importance of the buffalo to Nehiyaw Pimâtisiwin (Cree way of life).
Students, staff, and some Maskwacîsak were able to take home buffalo meat to feed their families. Dry meat was also prepared and made available the next day! miyo-âcimowin!
