Welcoming letter from Regina Crowchild, (Minor chief)
Welcome! We are honoured to welcome you to our beautiful lands here at TsuuT’ina Nation. Our gathering this week is of great significance for our Treaties. Over the next few days we will discuss together as one mind the shape and the future of our Nations in accordance with the Spirit and Intent of our Treaties.
Our testament of unity and respect for our autonomy as Nations strengthens the work that is needed to protect our Inherent Rights, Treaty and Treaty Rights.
By working collectively and maintaining a common understanding, we can achieve great things as Treaty Peoples.
We will discuss five common pillars which include Citizenship, Nationhood, Territories/Lands, Fiscal relations, and our Justice System. We are Nations.
This gathering is of great importance to us Treaty Peoples.
We cannot let Canada terminate our Treaties. We need to combine our thoughts and ideas on how we move forward.
It is our pleasure to invite our Elders, leadership, youth and all Treaty Peoples.
We also have scheduled entertainment during the evenings. Have a safe travel to our beautiful resort and safe travels home.
