Today was the first day of the Treaty 1-11 Gathering hosted by Cold Lake First Nations, where elders were invited to be part of the conversation on items of importance to focus on in order to preserve our culture for the next seven generations. The importance of language and ceremony was a main highlight, as well as the importance of our Treaty Rights, education, and learning from our ancestors; how far we’ve come and are still fighting for what we deserve as a peoples.
