Steering Committee for Indian Ecumenical conference ..I believe this is either 1970 or 1971. These meeting were for a resurgence of culture, thousands came from all over north and south america. elders were brought in…it was 7 days long and nothing cost anything and everyone was fed. Morley Alberta Chief John Snow at the time offered the conference a permanent home at their Stoney Park. meeting went on during the day under the arbor of the trees…ppl spoke,, shared,, learned.. at night there would be dancing round dancing, pow wow dancing, stomp dancing…so fun. and also elders would hold ceremonies… I wish everyone could experience that. These men are also the ones who lobbied the govt for National Aboriginal Day. just a fun fact.
