🌿 Sage Picking with Our Students 🌿
On Thursday, September 18th, our K5 students from Theresa C Wildcat Early Learning Centre joined students from Maskwacis Outreach School for a special sage-picking day.
This experience is part of a mentoring partnership between TWEL and MOS, bringing our students together to learn, grow, and strengthen connections.
We raise our hands in gratitude — ay-hay to Dale and Kevin Quinn — who continue to be incredible supporters of TWEL. Their generosity with their time, energy, and land makes opportunities like this possible. This is also a powerful example of Treaty in action between community and non-community members.
Through this land-based learning, our students are engaging in the values of Nehiyaw Pimâtisiwin (Cree way of life) and Nehiyawewin (Cree language), helping to nurture and strengthen their Nehiyaw identity.
🌱 Ay-hay to everyone who made this meaningful day possible!
