Our Community had the exciting opportunity to be apart of the upcoming film called Smudge The Blades – Movie! With scenes being shot at various local locations. Community Members were also invited to take part in the project as background extras, making the experience even more meaningful and inclusive.
It is a coming-of-age hockey film, directed by Cody Lightning, starring Paulina Alexis, Jana Schmeiding and a number of iconic Indigenous hockey players – Jordan Tootoo, Ethan Bear, Jason Chakita, and more.
The film crew generously provided food, offered incentives, and held door prizes and draws, creating a fun and engaging atmosphere for everyone involved.
There’s a buzz of excitement as we look forward to seeing our community featured on the big screen, and were proud to have played a role in bringing this project to life. We can’t wait to watch it unfold!
