Do you know a youth between the ages of 12-17 who’s facing struggles with motivation, staying in school, substance use, grief, or simply needs guidance and support? Young Spirit Winds has been helping youth in Maskwacis Nations for nearly 18 years, guiding them to walk through life in a good way. We are currently accepting intakes for our Winter Program! 🍃
Here’s what we offer:
✅ Program Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 3:00pm (Fridays are half days, ending at 12:00/12:30pm)
✅ Transportation: Available for status FN Ponoka, Montana First Nation, Ermineskin Cree Nation, Samson Cree Nation, Louis Bull Tribe, and Wetaskiwin.
✅ Meals Provided: 2 meals daily (Breakfast, Lunch, and a Snack before heading home)
✅ Cultural Practices:
Daily Smudge Ceremony
3 Sweats per program
Pipe Ceremonies at the start and end of the program
Teachings and outings led by community Elders and Knowledge Keepers
💡 Our Matrix Program combines a holistic approach to support, heal, and guide youth toward positive change.
Academics & Aftercare:
📚 We support youth who are in school part-time or transitioning to part-time schooling, ensuring they stay on track for success.
🎓 Upon completing the program, youth receive a Certificate of Graduation and a special gift as a token of their hard work. For those who don’t finish the program, a Certificate of Participation will be awarded.
Ongoing Support: After graduation, our Aftercare Team stays connected for 12 months, ensuring continued guidance and support on their journey.
