Day Two marked a successful conclusion to the KKI Youth Leadership Conference.
Ermineskin Cree Nation, our strength has always come from our people our language, our ceremonies, our Elders, and the courage of our youth.
To our young people:
You carry the songs of your ancestors. You carry the prayers of those who walked before you. Every time you learn your language, attend ceremony, listen to an Elder, or stand proud in who you are, you are protecting our Nation’s future.
Leadership is not just a title.
It begins with knowing who you are.
It grows when you follow our teachings.
It shines when you serve your community with humility and heart.
Our culture is not behind us it is within us. When our youth walk proudly in their identity, grounded in Cree values, they become the leaders our Nation needs.
The next generation of Knowledge Keepers, educators, business owners, and change-makers are already among us.
We believe in you.
We support you.
We stand with you.
Let us continue to lift our youth, guide them with love, and remind them that their voice matters. The future of Ermineskin Cree Nation is bright because our youth are rising.
A big thank you to Kanawemahwasowin Kamik for putting together such a wonderful conference, and heartfelt appreciation to all the staff, leadership, volunteers, elders, chaperones, and especially our youth for making these two days truly unforgettable!
