Cree Class with Maskwacis Counselling & Support Services
On Wednesday, MCSS held another engaging Cree Class, with this week’s topic focusing on Wahkohtowin & Traditional Teachings.
Participants had the opportunity to learn Cree kinship terms from Elder Rita Cutknife and deepen their understanding of the importance of relationships and connection. Following the language lesson, Elder Ida Bull shared teachings on traditional parenting and Natural Law, providing valuable cultural knowledge and guidance.
It was a peaceful and informative evening, with participants asking questions, practicing what they learned, and engaging in meaningful discussions.
Supper was provided, and attendees had the chance to take home door prizes.
If you are interested in learning Cree, asking questions, and connecting with culture and language, the class is open to the community and everyone is welcome to join at any time.
Cree Classes will continue every Tuesday and Wednesday throughout the month of June from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at MCSS.
