Fire Bans, Restrictions & Advisories – Wednesday May 13th
With precipitation and cooler temperatures on the horizon, it’s possible that we may see some fire bans, restrictions, and advisories loosened or lifted in time for the May long weekend.
This map, from Alberta Wildfire, shows the current situation across the province.
Fire Advisories, shown in yellow, are used to inform the public that the fire hazard has increased and there may be some restrictions on burning.
Fire Restrictions, shown in orange, are the next level up and certain types of burning are often prohibited.
Fire Bans, shown in red, prohibit most or all types of burning.
We will keep an eye on how things change over the coming days and we might post an updated map if there are any major changes.
