Today is the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirited.
Also known as Red Dress Day—a day to honour the lives of those missing and murdered and to reflect on the deep injustices they continue to face.
We invite our community to wear red today, May 5 to remember and to act.
This day reminds us of the 231 calls for justice in the final report from the National Inquiry into the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.
It’s also an opportunity for people who have lost loved ones or who have experienced violence to gather for comfort and for solidarity.
Our prayers to you and your families. ❤️
Join us today as we honour our women with the annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes. Starts at 9 am from the Maskwacis Mall to Bear Park. All are Welcome!
Hosted by Ermineskin Women’s Shelter, Samson Community Wellness, Maskwacis Health Services, and Ermineskin Community Wellness.
