Tansi Parents/Guardians,
This letter is to inform you that a Hold and Secure took place at your child’s school today, Wednesday, February 21 due to a situation outside of our school. In collaboration with the RCMP the situation was resolved and our students were able to continue with their regularly scheduled classes.
Your child’s safety is our top priority. Your child’s school has been practicing a variety of safety drills throughout the school year. Some of these drills include Hold and Secure, Fire Evacuation, Shelter in Place and Lockdown. It is our goal to be prepared in all areas of safety.
During a Hold and Secure, we ask that the teachers continue with their normal indoor activities, and refrain from going outside as a precaution to shelter the students from what is happening around the school.
A Hold and Secure may be called for a variety of reasons, including but not limited to, people needing medical attention, a crime in progress off school grounds.
Our goal is to minimize our students and staff’s exposure to things that are happening around the schools that might have a negative impact on us all.
